Obverse description Warm ochre ground with a red and brown letterpress design. The large title 'Notgeld' arches across the upper centre in bold Gothic script, flanked by two ribbon banners each reading '1 Mark'. Vignettes of the 'Notgeld-Palast' building at left and the Süderbrarup railway station at right frame the central text panel, which states the issuer's name and address, a serial number, and a redemption clause in gold and silver; the lower border is animated by a procession of silhouetted top-hatted figures carrying 'Notgeld' placards, accompanied by a donkey at left and a cart at right, with 'Notgeld Album' signs at the outer flanks.

Reverse description Matching ochre ground with a red and brown letterpress layout. The denomination 'Eine Mark' is set in large decorative Gothic script across the upper half, flanked by numeral '1' in red on starburst underprints at each corner. Silhouetted figures carrying 'Notgeld' signs flank the central text block, while two 'Notgeld Album' books occupy the lower corners; at the foot, the issuer's personal monogram 'HsA' is presented within a starburst device labelled 'SCHUTZMARKE', serving as the note's declared anti-counterfeiting mark.
