| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in dark blue and green on cream paper, framed by a dense guilloche border with corner rosettes and the numeral '1' at each corner. A large central panel carries the denomination 'Eine Mark' in bold Gothic blackletter script on a foliate underprint, above which the header reads 'Gutschein über'. The lower register is divided into three compartments: a vignette of a multi-storey civic building at left, a central text panel bearing the place and date 'Beckum, 1. November 1918. Der Magistrat' with two manuscript signatures and an embossed dry seal of the Magistrat der Stadt Beckum, and the city's heraldic shield at right. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is a richly coloured multicolour letterpress vignette illustrating the local Westphalian folk tale 'De Bieckumer Raothues-Püt' (The Beckum Town Hall Well), set in a townscape with figures in traditional dress gathered around a well. Two columns of dialect verse in Low German text flank the central scene below, while the upper portion carries the redemption clause 'Gegen Einlieferung dieses Gutscheines zahlt die Stadt Beckum'. The lower margin is divided into two panels containing the validity warning: 'Dieser Schein verliert seine Gültigkeit, wenn er nicht innerhalb eines Monats nach erfolgter öffentlicher Aufforderung zur Einlösung vorgelegt wird'. |
