| Reverse description | The reverse presents a bold two-line denomination inscription in the central field, reading I / GROS, indicating one Mariengroschen. Small rosette ornaments are placed at the upper corners and base of the field, providing simple decorative framing. The lettering is large and roughly struck, consistent with the crude hammered technique employed for this emergency issue. The flan is irregular in shape, further attesting to the hasty production conditions during the siege of Minden in 1634. |
