Obverse description Central field displays the crowned arms of Bremen — a silver key on a red shield — set within an ornate cartouche flanked by two rampant lions as supporters. The shield is surrounded by elaborate scroll and strapwork mantling in the late Renaissance style. The date 1614 appears in the upper portion of the surrounding legend, with the denomination 1 MARCK inscribed below the shield. The circular legend reads MONETA NOUA REIPUBLICÆ BREMENSIS, running along the outer rim within a beaded border.
