Obverse description Central field occupied by the crossed emblems of the Bishopric of Dorpat — a sword and a key crossed saltire-wise — rendered in crude, low-relief hammered style characteristic of late 14th-century Baltic bracteate-influenced coinage. The devices are surrounded by a partial circular legend in uncial Latin letters. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped at the margins, with visible die-wear consistent with heavy circulation.
