Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of Louis XV facing left, engraved in the style of Joseph-Charles Röettiers. The legend commences at approximately the 7 o'clock position. The mint master's initials appear in the exergue beneath the royal effigy. The portrait is rendered with fine detail, conveying the youthful features of the king.

Reverse description Two oval shields of France (azure, three fleurs-de-lis) and Navarre (gules, a chain), displayed side by side and slightly inclined toward each other beneath a royal crown. The mint mark or privy mark of the issuing workshop appears in the exergue below the shields. The year of issue is incorporated within the circular legend surrounding the central armorial design.
