Reverse description A cross of four crowned shields of France, each bearing three fleurs-de-lis, arranged in cruciform fashion with a fleur-de-lis ornament at each diagonal angle between the arms. At the center of the cross appears the mint letter 'A' for Paris. The upper shield is surmounted by a royal crown, and the composition is set within an inner circle bordered by a toothed rim. The circular legend CHRS REGN VINC IMP (Christus Regnat Vincit Imperat) runs around the periphery, invoking the traditional Bourbon royal motto.
