Reverse description A bold double-armed cross (croix fléuronnée) with fleurs-de-lis at each of the four terminals, and royal crowns positioned at the ends of the horizontal arms; four additional fleurs-de-lis fill the angles formed between the arms of the cross. A small circular mint mark (letter A for Paris) is placed at the centre of the cross. The surrounding legend in Latin is divided into four parts by the arms of the cross, each word separated by pellets.
