| Reverse description | The large numeral 1 dominates the central field, flanked on either side by stylised cannabis leaves rendered in raised relief. A heart symbol appears at the lower left and a yin-yang symbol at the lower right, reinforcing the community's countercultural iconography. Below the numeral, a snail is depicted in profile crawling across a decorative ribbon. The face value legend LØN is inscribed along the lower exergue, and the outer border replicates the toothed gear-wheel design of the obverse. |

Freetown Christiania has issued its own internal currency intermittently since the 1970s, functioning as a semi-autonomous commune within Copenhagen that Danish authorities have repeatedly attempted — and failed — to dissolve. The 2019 series was produced as Christiania faced renewed legal pressure over property rights, with the coins serving a partly symbolic function: asserting economic independence from the Danish state regardless of their practical circulation within the community's roughly 850 residents.
