Beneath the numeral, a detailed relief of a snail in profile is depicted centrally, its shell rendered with fine concentric spiral lines. Fristaden Christiania — the self-declared autonomous district occupying a former military barracks in Copenhagen since 1971 — has issued its own internal currency intermittently, used within the settlement's collective economy. This 2016 piece was struck in collaboration with the Danish band Lukas Graham, whose song "7 Years" had just broken internationally, as a fundraising and solidarity token during a period of renewed legal pressure from the Danish government over Christiania's status.
