Obverse description The Lithuanian national coat of arms, the Vytis, dominates the central field: an armored knight on horseback galloping to the left, brandishing a sword overhead in his right hand and bearing a shield decorated with a double cross on his left arm. A six-pointed star appears beneath the horse's raised foreleg. The numeral '1' is prominently displayed in the lower central field, with the legend 'LIETUVA' running along the left rim and 'LITAS 1997' along the right rim in Latin script.

Reverse description A right-facing portrait bust of Vladas Jurgutis (1885–1966), the first chairman of the Bank of Lithuania, occupies the central field, rendered in low relief with fine engraved detail. The commemorative legend 'LIETUVOS BANKUI IR LITUI 75' arcs around the upper portion of the field, marking the 75th anniversary of the Bank of Lithuania and the Litas currency. The design is restrained and formal, consistent with commemorative circulation coinage.
