| Obverse description | Central motif features the Genoese city gate (castello), surmounted by the Sforza dynastic arms bearing the biscione (serpent devouring a figure), flanked on either side by a six-pointed star in the field. The entire composition is enclosed within a polylobe inner border, each interior point ornamented with an annulet. The polylobe is in turn surrounded by a thin solid circle and an outer reeded (grained) circle. The circumferential legend in Latin runs between these border elements. |

| Reverse description | A cross pattée occupies the center of a polylobe inner border, with each interior point of the lobe ornamented by an annulet; stars appear in three of the four quadrants formed by the cross arms. The entire device is enclosed within a thin solid circle and an outer reeded (grained) circle. The circumferential Latin legend runs between these border elements and terminates with the initial letter of the responsible mint official, serving as a mintmaster's mark. |
