| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of Carlo Ludovico I, Duke of Lucca, facing right, with naturalistic wavy hair rendered in the neoclassical style. The truncation of the bust is plain and unadorned. The engraver's signature C. LANDI F. appears below the bust in the lower field, and the date 1834 is inscribed at the bottom.
