| Reverse description | Central quartered shield of arms of the Spanish Habsburgs, comprising the arms of Castile, León, Aragón, and Brabant, surmounted by an archducal crown. The shield is set within a circular Latin legend reading DOMINVS·MIHI·ADIVTOR, meaning 'The Lord is my Helper,' a personal device frequently employed on Philip II's Low Countries coinage. The overall composition is bold and slightly off-center, consistent with the hammered production technique. A mint mark appears in the lower portion of the legend, identifying the issuing mint. The copper flan displays green patination and surface porosity typical of circulated examples. |
