Obverse description Central field features a heraldic dolphin curving sinister, crowned above the head, serving as the primary dynastic emblem of the Delfino lords of Desana. The device is rendered in the stylized, somewhat crude manner characteristic of late 16th-century north Italian feudal hammered coinage. The surrounding Latin legend reads DELFI. TI. CO. DECIA., abbreviating the family name and comital title. The strike is uneven and weak in areas, consistent with the irregular billon flan and hand-hammered production technique of this minor feudal issue.
