Obverse description Crowned quartered coat of arms of Albert and Isabella occupying the central field, incorporating the arms of Austria, Castile, León, Burgundy, and Brabant, surmounted by an imperial crown. The heraldic shield is rendered in the Spanish-Habsburg tradition typical of the Southern Netherlands. The circular Latin legend runs along the outer border, interrupted at top by the crown. No date appears on this face; when present, the date divides the shield.

Reverse description Three heraldic shields arranged in a trefoil pattern around a central crowned firesteel (the badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece), the whole surmounted by a royal crown. The upper-left shield bears the arms of Austria (barry of six), the upper-right the arms of Burgundy (bendy of six), and the lower shield the rampant lion of Brabant. The Latin legend encircles the design along the outer border, identifying the rulers as Archdukes of Austria and Dukes of Burgundy and Brabant.
