| Obverse description | The Romanian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting an eagle displayed holding a cross in its beak, with a composite shield on its breast divided into five quarters representing the historical provinces: a golden eagle for Wallachia, an aurochs head for Moldavia, a lion passant with a bridge for Oltenia and Banat, two dolphins addorsed for Dobrogea, and a black eagle with seven towers, a sun, and a crescent for Transylvania.
