| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Sierra Leone occupies the central field, depicting a shield supported by two rampant lions, with two palm trees rising behind the shield and a lion passant at the shield's centre above three wavy lines representing the sea. A floral wreath forms the base of the arms, and a ribbon scroll at the foot bears the national motto UNITY FREEDOM JUSTICE. The numeral 1 appears prominently above the arms.
