| Obverse description | Printed in red on a pale ground, the obverse carries a left-side portrait vignette of Lempira, the Lenca chieftain, shown in profile with a feathered headdress, his name lettered beneath the portrait. A central guilloche rosette frames the denomination numeral '1', with the national coat of arms positioned to the right; the date '16 DE MARZO DE 1951' is set at the lower right, and three manuscript signatures of bank officials run along the bottom margin. |
