| Obverse description | Central square perforation surrounded by a stylized sunburst, with sun, moon, and five planets depicted among clouds in the upper field; the lower field features three mountains, three trees, and a conventionalized sea. Eight Chinese characters are arranged in two vertical columns of four, flanking the central square, reading 'Thông Bửu Vạn Thế Vĩnh Lại' (萬嗣世德永通賴寶), in regular script (kaishu). The overall composition is rendered in the ornate, highly detailed aesthetic characteristic of Nguyễn dynasty cast gold coinage. |
