Part of Turkey's long-running WWF-partnership wildlife series, this issue was produced to draw attention to the griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus) population in Anatolia, where habitat loss and poisoned livestock carcasses used by farmers had driven dramatic regional declines through the late twentieth century. Turkey became one of the last strongholds for the species in the western Palearctic.
