Turkey's wildlife coinage series, launched in the 2010s, replaced earlier abstract designs with native fauna as part of a broader rebranding of circulating coinage under the Turkish State Mint. The Chukar partridge — Alectoris chukar — is native across Anatolia and has been hunted there for centuries, making it an uncontroversial choice for a country where the species is both common and culturally familiar.
