| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the ornate tughra (imperial monogram) of Sultan Abdülhamid II, rendered in elaborate calligraphic style with characteristic upward projecting shafts and interlaced loops. A decorative floral spray with leaves and fruit appears to the right of the tughra. The regnal year numerals appear in the lower field below the tughra. Thirteen five-pointed stars are evenly distributed around the periphery within a finely beaded border. |
