Obverse description Royal cypher of Christian IV, composed of an interlaced 'C' and numeral '4', surmounted by a royal crown. The letters 'R' and 'P' flank the crown to the left and right respectively, with the letter 'F' positioned above within the crown's arch, together forming the motto 'RFP' (Regna Firmat Pietas). The design is rendered in a bold, slightly crude hammered style typical of early seventeenth-century Danish coinage. The coin is bordered by a beaded circle.
