Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing bust of Duke Wilhelm of Nassau, rendered in neoclassical style with the hair arranged in carefully delineated layered rows. The truncation of the neck bears the engraver's initials P. Z. The surrounding legend reads WILHELM HERZOG ZU NASSAU, running along the inner edge of the raised border. The fine relief portraiture and naturalistic hair treatment are characteristic of early 19th-century German die-engraving.
