Obverse description Full-length portrait of King Frederik III standing facing, wearing an elaborate puffed costume with bloused breeches (the so-called 'Pumphose'), armour breastplate, and a crown upon his head. The king holds a commander's baton in his right hand and rests his left hand on the pommel of a sword at his hip. The figure is rendered in a bold baroque style with fine detail in the drapery and armour. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the Latin legend running along the outer rim between the beaded border and the coin's edge.
