Obverse description A crowned escutcheon divided into two fields occupies the central obverse: the dexter shield bears the three passant lions of Denmark, while the sinister shield displays the polar bear of Greenland. A large royal crown surmounts the combined arms. The circular legend DEN KONGELIGE GRØNLANDSKE HANDEL arcs around the upper periphery, with the date placed in the lower exergual area beneath the shield.
