Obverse description Draped bust of King Frederik IV facing right, with long flowing curled wig rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner, the truncation adorned with armour and a decorative clasp. The effigy occupies the majority of the coin's field, projecting a regal and commanding presence characteristic of late 17th-century Danish royal portraiture. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading FRID • IIII • D • G • DAN • NOR • VA • GO • REX •, identifying the king as Frederik IV, by the Grace of God, King of Denmark, Norway, the Wends and the Goths. The rim is secured by a fine milled border.
