Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of Friedrich Wilhelm IV, King of Prussia, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and sideburns in the neoclassical portrait style. The truncation of the bust falls at the lower field, with the mint mark 'A' positioned below at the base. A continuous Latin legend encircles the portrait along the toothed border, reading FRIEDR. WILHELM IV KOENIG V. PREUSSEN. The smooth, open field accentuates the sculptural quality of the royal portrait.

Reverse description Central field features the denomination '1 KRONE' and date arranged in three lines, all enclosed within a wreath of oak leaves tied at the base with a ribbon bow, a motif emblematic of German nationalism. Flanking the wreath at either side are small floral rosette ornaments. The surrounding legend, separated from the wreath by a toothed border, reads VEREINSMÜNZE above and 50 EIN PFUND FEIN below, stating the coin's fineness standard of 1/50 of a metric pound of fine gold. The overall design is clean and heraldic in character, typical of mid-19th-century German states coinage.
