| Obverse description | Full-length effigy of King Christian IV standing facing right, attired in royal regalia, holding a horizontal scepter at hip level in his right hand with his left hand resting on the pommel of his sword — a composition distinct from the earlier KM#59 type, where the scepter is held vertically over the shoulder. The king's figure is partially enclosed within a beaded or rope inner circle, while the Latin legend runs outside this circle along the periphery of the coin. The engraving reflects the elaborate late Renaissance portrait style typical of early seventeenth-century Danish coinage. |
