During the Seven Years' War, Prussian forces under Frederick the Great besieged Prague in the spring of 1757. Cut off and running short of silver, the city's administration authorized emergency coinage struck in tin — a material scraped together from whatever was available locally. These siege pieces were never intended to outlast the emergency, and most were melted or discarded once normal currency returned.
The Diet#1049 and Her#1483 references place this firmly within the recognized siege coinage corpus, distinct from regular imperial Kreuzer issues of the same reign. Frederick lifted the siege in June 1757 after his defeat at Kolín, meaning the window of production was under two months.
