Obverse description Central shield bearing the arms of Mömpelgard (Montbéliard), with the denomination numeral 'I' appearing to the left and right of the shield in the field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, rendering the titles of Ludwig Friedrich (Louis Frederick), Count of Württemberg-Mömpelgard. The overall design is characteristic of early seventeenth-century hammered coinage from the region.
