Obverse description Quartered shield bearing the arms of Orléans-Longueville and Neuchâtel, surmounted by a rounded crown flanked by floral fleurons in the style of celery leaves. The shield occupies the central field, with the dynastic impalement clearly delineated between the two heraldic quarters. A circular Latin legend surrounds the composition, identifying the issuing sovereign. The hammered flan imparts a characteristically irregular outline to the piece.

Reverse description A croix pattée with flared, concave terminals occupies the central field, contained within a raised inner circle that separates it from the surrounding circular legend. The arms of the cross extend nearly to the inner circle, with the characteristic pattée flaring clearly visible at each terminal. A fleur-de-lis stop punctuates the Latin scriptural legend in the outer field. The overall design is typical of the small billon issues of the Neuchâtel mint from this period, struck on an irregularly shaped hammered flan.
