| Obverse description | Crowned quartered coat of arms of Henri I of Longueville occupying the central field, surmounted by a royal crown adorned with fleurs-de-lis and topped by a trefoil ornament. The shield displays the arms of Longueville (quarterly with the arms of Neuchâtel), rendered in the hammered style typical of late 16th-century Swiss coinage. The circular Latin legend surrounding the arms reads H · D · LONG · C · S · NEOC with the date 90 (for 1590) interspersed within the inscription, identifying Henri as Duke of Longueville and Sovereign Count of Neuchâtel. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and uneven strike consistent with hand-hammered production. |

| Reverse description | A plain cross with curved, lobate arms divides the reverse field into four quarters, each canton containing a vine leaf or foliate ornament, giving rise to the coin's collector designation as the 'vine leaves' type. The cross is set within a circular inner border. The surrounding Latin legend OCVLI · DOM · SVPER · IVSTOS ✿, meaning 'The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous' (Psalm 34:15), runs along the outer margin and is punctuated by a floral stop. The overall composition is characteristic of small-denomination billon coinage of the Neuchâtel principality in the late 16th century. |
