Obverse description Central field displays the crowned Württemberg arms shield, bearing the three antlers of Württemberg, surmounted by a small crown. The date appears above the crown in the upper portion of the field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading FRID.CAROL.D.G.DVX.WIRTEMB*, separated from the toothed outer border by an inner circle. The overall design is characteristic of late 17th-century German territorial coinage.
