Reverse description A crowned Bohemian lion rampant to the left occupies the central field, depicted with a forked tail and an elaborate crown above, consistent with the heraldic arms of the Kingdom of Bohemia. The beast is rendered in the bold, stylized manner typical of hammered coinage of the period. The encircling Latin legend ARCHID AVS DVX BV ET ST abbreviates Ferdinand's titles as Archduke of Austria and Duke of Burgundy and Styria. The date 1628 is incorporated into the legend, flanking the crown. The overall design is enclosed within a beaded or rope inner border.
