| Additional information |
Ferdinand III issued these small kreuzers through the Breslau mint during the final stretch of the Thirty Years' War and its immediate aftermath — a period when Silesian coinage was chronically debased and public trust in small silver denominations was near its floor. The Peace of Westphalia in 1648 formally ended the conflict but did little to immediately stabilize the flood of underweight small change circulating across the region.
Friedensburg 277 places this issue within a well-documented sequence of Breslau municipal and ducal small coinage, but the extended date range suggests multiple die marriages across nearly two decades of production.
