Additional information

Ferdinand Charles ruled Tyrol as an archduke under Habsburg suzerainty, and his administration of the county during the mid-seventeenth century coincided with the financial exhaustion following the Thirty Years' War. Small silver kreuzers of this type circulated heavily across the Alpine passes, where Tyrol's position made it a transit corridor for commerce between Italy and the German territories. The extended date range of this issue — fifteen years — reflects consistent demand rather than sporadic production.
