| Additional information |
Württemberg-Oels was a tiny Silesian duchy held by a cadet branch of the Württemberg line, and Christian Ulrich — who ruled from 1664 until his death in 1704 — issued these small silver kreuzer largely to assert dynastic standing rather than meet any significant monetary need. The duchy's population and territory were modest enough that its independent coinage carried more political symbolism than economic weight. Several Friedensburg references cover this type because minor die variations across the issue's six-year span were catalogued separately, though the practical differences between them are negligible.
