Obverse description Shield-shaped crowned coat of arms of Saxony, featuring the characteristic barry of ten or and sable with a central bend of the House of Wettin (Rautenkranz), surmounted by a ducal crown. The initials S and M (Sachsen-Meiningen) flank the shield to left and right respectively. The year of issue appears in the exergue below the shield.
