Obverse description The obverse displays the quartered arms of the Bishopric of Würzburg, comprising the Franconian rake and the episcopal rampant lion, surmounted by a princely crown. At the center of the shield, a small escutcheon bears the personal arms of Bishop Johann Philipp von Greiffenclau zu Vollraths, flanked by the date numerals on either side in the lower field. The overall heraldic composition is rendered in a high-relief baroque style typical of early 18th-century German ecclesiastical coinage.
