| Obverse description | Four-fold quartered arms of the Bishopric of Minden with a central escutcheon, the date divided across the field to either side of the shield. The quarters display the characteristic heraldic devices of the bishopric in low relief, with the numerals of the date flanking the composition. The overall design is executed in the crude hammered style typical of small-denomination North German ecclesiastical coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. |
