| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a trishul (trident) symbol, a Hindu religious emblem associated with Shiva, rendered in bold relief. Flanking the trishul is a Nagari (Devanagari) legend reading 'Sri Tamachiji', invoking the ruling chief's name and title. The upper portion of the field carries Arabic script denoting the Mughal suzerain's name, Sultan Muzaffar Shah, reflecting the dual political and religious character of the coinage. The design is framed by a plain linear border, characteristic of hammered coinage from the Kutch princely mints of the mid-seventeenth century. |
