| Obverse description | The obverse displays a bilingual hammered inscription divided by a horizontal rule into two registers. The upper register bears the Nagari legend 'Shri Rana' in bold raised characters, while the lower register carries the Arabic numeral date '978' (AH) in Persian script. The legends are set within a plain rectangular border that partially follows the irregular flan outline, characteristic of the hammered coinage tradition of the Kathiawar princely states.
