| Obverse description | The obverse features the Imperial Russian double-headed eagle displayed, with wings spread and each head surmounted by a crown, beneath a larger central imperial crown at the top. The eagle holds a sceptre in its right talon and an orb in its left, with a crowned shield bearing the mounted Saint George on the breast. The date 1828 is inscribed in the lower field beneath the eagle, flanked by decorative stops. The design is executed in high relief within a plain field bordered by a fine beaded inner circle. |
