Obverse description The obverse field bears a three-line Arabic inscription reading 'Sultan Abd al-Aziz Khan', the name and title of the reigning Ottoman Sultan, inscribed within a raised inner circle. The legend is framed by an elegant wreath of olive or laurel branches, tied at the base with a decorative ribbon bow, all executed in relief against a plain copper field. The design is entirely epigraphic, with no figurative elements, consistent with Islamic numismatic tradition. A plain raised rim encircles the entire composition.
