| Reverse description | The reverse is fully occupied by a multi-line Arabic inscription arranged across the field, with the text distributed in two registers separated by a curved line. The upper portion contains the name and title of the issuing authority referencing Pontianak and Mempawa, while the lower register bears the Hijri date AH 1226, corresponding to 1811 CE. The script is rendered in an informal, hand-cut style characteristic of Malay Sultanate copper coinage of the early nineteenth century. The legend reads: 'Currency of Pontianak and Mempawa, year AH 1226.' |
