Obverse description Central field bearing a partially legible Arabic inscription rendered in raised cast lettering across the flan. The legend, attributing sovereignty to Sultan Abdul Jalil Shah, is disposed across the octagonal field in a characteristically informal arrangement typical of Johor tin coinage. The casting surface displays natural granularity and oxidation consistent with the tin alloy medium. No border ornament or inner circle is present, the legend occupying the full available field.
