| Obverse description | Central field depicts a dagger or khanjar oriented vertically, flanked on both sides by a conch shell (shankha). The design is rendered in low relief on a roughly flan with a granular surface texture characteristic of hammered copper coinage of the Nayaka period. The symbols are deeply rooted in South Indian iconographic tradition, the conch being an emblem of Vishnu and royal authority. |

| Reverse description | Two-line Devanagari legend inscribed within a rectangular panel bordered by a beaded outer circle. The inscription reads 'Chalama Raya', identifying the issuing ruler of the Nayakas of Gingee. The lettering is boldly struck within the panel, with the upper and lower registers clearly delineated by horizontal lines, a format characteristic of South Indian Nayaka copper kasu issues. |
