Obverse description A stylized elephant facing left with trunk raised, rendered in low relief in the crude hammered style characteristic of Mysore coinage of this period. The animal's legs and body are depicted in a compact, broadly modelled form filling much of the coin's field. The flan is slightly irregular, as typical of hand-struck copper issues of the Mysore kingdom.
